Xiaomi Auto said on October 19 that OTA Xiaomi HyperOS 1.18 is live for SU7 and YU7 vehicles equipped with Xiaomi HAD. The company is pitching the release as a city assisted-driving polish rather than a new autonomy level: smoother acceleration and braking that cut sharp stops, more natural lane changes and gentler detours, and quicker progress through intersections by reading traffic flow. It also removes the spoken prompts that previously announced lane changes.
YU7 owners already received a 1.18.0 push on October 12 that renamed "end-to-end assisted driving" to "full-domain navigation assist" and widened parking-spot-level navigation to more popular malls and office districts, with routes that can end at elevator lobbies or charger bays. HyperOS 1.18 extends that urban-commute focus to the broader HAD fleet. Xiaomi Auto's public notes emphasize comfort and continuity on familiar city roads; they do not claim unsupervised driving or SAE Level 4 capability.
The update sits in a longer HAD software line. In late 2025 Xiaomi highlighted reinforcement learning, world-model components and AES emergency steering for the same driver-assist stack, and Lei Jun has repeatedly stressed that assisted driving is not autonomous driving. HyperOS 1.18 for cars should not be confused with HyperOS 4 phone and tablet releases that recently added Apple-ecosystem sharing features.
As with most Xiaomi Auto OTAs, availability depends on vehicle configuration and regional rollout timing inside the Xiaomi Auto App. Drivers still need to supervise the system, keep hands ready and follow traffic rules. For readers tracking Xiaomi's car software, the practical change in 1.18 is how the car feels when it brakes, merges and threads intersections in dense city traffic, plus wider last-meter parking navigation on YU7.
