The National Police report that 87 individuals have so far been arrested at Palma Airport this year for attempting to travel using false documentation. Officers have also identified 201 people who were subject to warrants or alerts from various authorities; 59 of these individuals were the subjects of active arrest warrants.
These figures are drawn from the total tally at the airport's border checkpoint, where nearly six million people were processed - an increase of 2.5% compared with 2025. The majority of those processed arrived on flights from the UK and Ireland, in addition to routes originating from the United States and Canada. Other arrivals came from Africa (Morocco and Algeria), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates) and various European nations, including Serbia, Albania and Moldova, as well as, on a temporary and exceptional basis, flights arriving from Italy.
The 87 were found to have fraudulent passports. Thirty-four Albanian nationals constituted the highest number, followed by 16 Iranians, 13 Chinese nationals, eight Algerians, five Somalis and three Afghans. There were also individuals from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Senegal, Peru, India and Vietnam.
Entry was denied to 24 travellers, who were returned to their countries of origin for failing to meet the requirements for entry into Spanish territory.
According to the National Police, the Entry/Exit System (EES) for border control has been implemented successfully.
