We have just reviewed the new Asus ProArt P16. However, with last year's 2025 model still on sale, the question is: Who is the RTX Spark version suited to, and who should opt for the combination of an AMD processor and a GeForce graphics card instead?

With the ProArt P16, Asus has offered a relatively slim and powerful multimedia laptop for several years now. Last year also saw the addition of a high-end version with a 4K tandem OLED display and the two powerful GeForce GPUs, the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.
For this year's ProArt P16, ASUS has made the chassis even more compact and slimmer and is using the new Nvidia RTX Spark chips, which combine an ARM processor with a GeForce graphics card. The two versions are very similar in price, but the new model is not the better choice for every user group
Although the new NVIDIA RTX Spark N1X offers better CPU performance than the AMD processor, its graphics performance is only on par with a GeForce RTX 5070. So anyone who needs the highest possible graphics performance or plays a lot of games will clearly be better served by last year's ProArt P16. The new RTX Spark processor, on the other hand, is particularly appealing if you increasingly use AI models alongside gaming or content creation, as its unified memory pays off here.
Another advantage of the RTX Spark is that it can deliver its full performance even on battery power. This makes it easy to work on complex projects while on the go.
By contrast, the dedicated graphics card in last year's P16 has to significantly reduce its performance on battery power. Finally, it is worth noting that the ARM architecture can still cause compatibility issues, as not all applications or games are compatible yet. Although the situation has improved considerably over the past two years, it is advisable to check that the software you want to use actually runs without problems before buying an ARM device.
