US President Donald Trump posted this AI video of him with a tiger
The family of a 23-year-old man killed by a tiger at a wildlife park in northern England has urged people to stop sharing footage of the fatal incident, saying its circulation was causing them severe distress.
The appeal came after US President Donald Trump posted the video on his social media platform, Truth Social.Trump posted an apparently AI-generated video on Truth Social shortly before midnight on Tuesday, showing himself taming a tiger and playing with the animal. The clip appears to parody the fatal attack footage, showing Trump chasing away later. It ends with him embracing the animal as “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays in the background. In a statement on Tuesday, the family of William Chapman, who died on Saturday at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, appealed for the circulation of the footage to stop.“The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing ... severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this,” the family said, according to British media reports.Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene after entering a tiger enclosure.
The family described him as a “bright, warm and engaging young man” who had experienced significant mental illness for several years. They said it was for the coroner to determine whether his medical history played a role in his death. The incident occurred at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, where the tiger involved, an endangered Amur tiger named Altai, will not be euthanised, the park said. The facility remains closed as local authorities investigate the incident on health and safety grounds.
