The Kano State House of Assembly has received the names of six nominees that were forwarded by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointment as commissioners.
The Speaker, Jibril Ismail Falgore, read the governor’s letter during plenary on Wednesday.
Falgore said the nominees were submitted for legislative screening and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.
The nominees included retired Air Salisu Yusha’u, Professor Sani Lawan, Muntari Ishaq, Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Idris Garba Mustapha and Ibrahim Namadi Dala.
Their nomination is part of moves to strengthen the State Executive Council and improve coordination of government policies and programmes.
The House is expected to screen the nominees in the coming days.
