South Sudan’s Ambassador to Kenya, Simon Deng Juach, has met with South Sudanese community leaders in Eldoret to discuss challenges facing nationals living in the country and explain the Embassy’s role in supporting them.
During Tuesday’s meeting, Ambassador Juach outlined the Embassy’s responsibilities in representing South Sudan, protecting the interests of its citizens and strengthening relations with Kenya.
He also reported improvements in passport processing and called for better communication between the Embassy and South Sudanese communities across Kenya.
Community leaders raised concerns about education and scholarships, documentation, employment, security, healthcare, business opportunities and skills development programmes for young people.
The Ambassador responded to the concerns and encouraged community members to stay informed about opportunities and services available through the Embassy.
Community representatives welcomed the meeting, describing it as the first engagement of its kind between a South Sudanese ambassador and community leaders in Eldoret.
The meeting aimed to strengthen communication between the Embassy and South Sudanese citizens living in Kenya, provide a platform to address their concerns and improve access to consular services.
