Beaconhouse National University (BNU), in strategic partnership with the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), formally inaugurated the Green Experience Center (GEC) at a ceremony held on campus.
The GEC is a regenerative and sustainable green architecture project, conceived by the Razia Hassan School of Architecture and funded by OGDC.
The ceremony was compèred by Nooria Shiraz and began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. A video presentation illustrated the GEC’s vision and development, and addresses were delivered by Vice Chancellor Dr. Moeed Yusuf, lead architect Mr. Omar Hassan, and OGDC Managing Director and CEO Mr. Ahmad Hayat Lak.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, followed by a guided walkthrough of the facility. Attendees included Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, Mr. Nayyar Ali Dada, Pervez and Razia Hassan, several senior architects, corporate executives, and government officials and leaders.
The Center puts low-impact construction methods, circular material flows, and fine craftsmanship into practice as a living laboratory for learning, reflection, and collective exchange. It supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDGs 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 17, and aims to spark discussion on regenerative architecture, planetary stewardship, and a low-emission future.
On behalf of BNU and OGDC, thanks were extended to all speakers, guests, and attendees. Guests were then invited to a reception.
