Beverly Afaglo and sister
Actress Beverly Afaglo died about six weeks after doctors reportedly gave her two months to live following a battle with triple-negative breast cancer, her sister, Mama Fiawotoe I, has disclosed.
Speaking to media personality Gifty Anti, Mama Fiawotoe said doctors advised Beverly to spend time with her children and put her personal affairs in order.
Despite the prognosis, she said, the actress remained hopeful of recovery and resisted discussions about her possible death.
“She kept saying, ‘I’m not going to die. Stop asking me those questions. I’m not going to die,’” she recalled.
Mama Fiawotoe said Beverly initially noticed a lump under her arm and sought medical attention after it continued to grow despite medication. A biopsy later confirmed cancer, and she underwent radiation therapy followed by surgery.
However, new lumps appeared shortly after the operation. The family later learnt that she had triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of the disease.
As her condition deteriorated, doctors at Swiss Medical Centre reportedly told the family that the cancer was spreading towards her spine and other parts of her body, leaving limited treatment options.
The family travelled to the United States for further medical assistance but reportedly received little hope of managing the condition at that stage.
Despite the setbacks, her sister said Beverly continued to believe she would recover.
The actress died in May 2026 at the age of 42.
