Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh says that the team is looking at everything after dropping to 0-6 following their loss to the Chiefs.
Harbaugh said the Chargers' winless start through mid-October shouldn't rule out any major changes, including a potential move involving offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.
"We're looking into everything at this point," Harbaugh on if a decision has been made on McDaniel.
"That process is ongoing, particularly offensively, scoring more points. Different, multiple situational ways that we need to play more complementary football."
Harbaugh added: "0-6 does not give the privilege to rule out anything at this point."
Harbaugh reiterated his words from Sunday after the loss.
"We're going to look at everything," Harbaugh said.
"The job I'm doing, it starts with me. We'll watch this and get with our offensive coaches," Harbaugh said. "I see the effort, I see the work being put in in the meetings, on the practice field, and to get that to translate to the field is what's necessary. Feel bad for our players, our team, our coaches, our fans. And [offense] needs to be addressed."
The offense remains a problem, and sooner or later, someone will pay. By the sound and look of it, that person will be McDaniel.
It's a matter of when, not if, McDaniel will be fired. The 43-year-old offensive coordinator is the first person, aside from Greg Roman, to work with Harbaugh in that role.
The hiring of McDaniel was viewed as the offseason move for the Chargers. McDaniel was supposed to lift the Chargers from the ashes and lead them to becoming one of the best offenses we'd ever seen with Justin Herbert.
Instead, the Chargers' offense looks as bad as it ever did, and that's saying something after the team's back-to-back lackluster offensive playoff performances under Roman.
With the Chargers on their bye week, this could be an ideal time for the team to make any major changes.
