Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today proposed establishing a separate armed force to protect super tuskers in Sri Lanka, similar to a programme implemented in Africa.
Addressing Parliament, Premadasa said former Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta had established a separate armed force to protect super tuskers, including the famous elephant ‘Ahmed’.
He said a similar initiative should be introduced in Sri Lanka to strengthen the protection of the country’s super tuskers.
