If you spent last winter hopelessly addicted to Marks and Spencer’s viral Peppermint Bark Cookies, we have some devastating news.
M&S has confirmed the fan-favourite won’t be making a comeback this Christmas, after eagle-eyed shoppers noticed they were not in stores.
The festive cookie, featuring a rich chocolate base combined with dark and white chocolate, mint candy pieces, and peppermint oil, flew off shelves when it launched in November 2025.
Responding to a social media post, an M&S spokesperson said: ‘We chose not to bring back the Peppermint Bark Cookie this year, as we always want to bring in new flavours to the Foodhall.
‘However, if you’re still hankering after them, pick up our Peppermint & Chocolate Wafer Rolls or Chocolate Peppermint Bark the next time you’re in store.’
Worth a try if you have a mint-shaped hole in your heart?
Disappointed customers took to social media to plead for their return.
On TikTok, @gracie.smith0_0 wrote: ‘I’m fully having withdrawals from them.’
‘I’m actually heartbroken,’ added @kayleighkinnard1, and @itsallaboutthebasetv exclaimed: ‘@Marks and Spencer, release the peppermint bark cookies you cowards!’
@thedeardiaries named them his ‘dream’ treat’ while @holly_martinx called them ‘addictive’.
It’s not all bad news though, as fans of other M&S festive treats can still enjoy the return of viral items such as the Gingerbread and White Chocolate cookies, alongside hundreds of other new and returning Christmas products landing in stores.
In other foodie news, McDonald’s has launched a ‘superb’ new product — but not everyone can try it, and B&M left shoppers in disbelief as a ‘favourite’ retro Cadbury chocolate landed in stores.
If you’re after more Christmas treats, Greggs just unveiled more Christmas menu items, plus Walkers revealed its 2026 Christmas crisps — including a discontinued flavour returning after 5 years.
In drinks news, Coca-Cola is launching a brand new Christmas flavour in the UK. Can you guess what it is?
