Fashion month came to a close in Paris last week as the likes of Zendaya, Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman attended shows across the city. It was a week long (well, eight-day) showcase of creativity, inspiration and self-expression that surprised and delighted audiences and cemented fashion and beauty trends for spring/summer.
The great and the good of the global fashion and beauty world have been out in full force over the last two months, travelling between the ‘big four’ fashion capitals for the bi-annual ready-to-wear showcase that is fashion week, or ‘fashion month’ as insiders refer to it, given that it’s a full four weeks of shows that take place across the four major host cities. Crowds of editors, designers, buyers, media, celebrities and hair and make-up stylists flocked to New York where the spring /summer collections kicked off in September with shows by Calvin Klein Collection, Khaite and Tory Burch, before heading on to an exciting season in London which saw Mulberry and McQueen return to the schedule after several seasons absent and Burberry closed London Fashion Week as usual. Guests headed straight on to Milan where Gucci opened Milan Fashion Week and Prada, Max Mara and Jil Sander also showed and seasonal trends started to emerge. Finally, Paris Fashion Week dazzled us with high production shows hosted by the biggest names in the industry from Victoria Beckham and Mulger to Chanel and Dior, all of which concluded the spring/summer 2027 shows on a high note.
Hair trends were a tale of two halves, with some designers opting to embrace individuality, natural, effortless styles and others looking to otherworldly influences to add drama to bold fashion looks. It was a stand-out season for hair, here were our favourite looks.
Mugler by Louis Ghewy for L’Oréal Professionnel

At Mugler, hair looks were inspired by otherworldly creatures and raver girls with maxi lengths and micro fringes. Backstage at the show Louis Ghewy explained “the creative brief for the show was ‘Animal Kingdom on an acid trip.’ We wanted to take you out of reality for a moment and transport you somewhere else, on a true journey. The inspiration was girls who seem to come from another world, but who also have something very nymph-like about them. We looked to raver girls, with their extreme micro-fringes, while keeping the rest of the hair very alive, with separation through the lengths – almost like aquatic nymphs. And when you think of Mugler, it’s impossible not to think of aliens. On some of the girls, we created exaggerated head shapes, almost extraterrestrial in appearance. As a tribute to Thierry Mugler’s fascination with animals and nature, Miguel and I wanted to push the boundaries of hairstyling this season and immerse you in a dreamlike universe. We explored head shapes inspired by aliens and insects, imagining nymphs who could just as easily be club kids. For the alien look, we need hold. My go-to product, the one I’ve been using for years, is Tecni.ART Flex Pli by L’Oréal Professionnel. We work it through the hair, then blow-dry it with a brush. We add a little L’Oréal Professionnel Volume Dust at the roots, then finish with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium to set everything in place. And when we’re creating larger shapes, our best ally is still padding.”
Courrèges by Cyndia Harvey for L’Oréal Professionnel

At Courrèges, Cyndia Harvey looked to individuality and preserving the natural personality of each model, using L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Oil to separate and texturise the lengths, creating a soft, slightly grungy and intentionally undone effect. On shorter hair, L’Oréal Professionnel FlexWeb Paste created that same feeling of natural, free and effortless styling.
Victoria Beckham by Anthony Turner for Schwarzkopf

At Victoria Beckham, the hair worked with the models’ individuality and expression rather than conforming to a prescribed look. Under the direction of Anthony Turner, the styling had an effortless and instinctive feel: relaxed yet considered. On some models, the hair was loose, embracing natural texture and movement, while others showcased more structured styles, from sleek, tight ponytails and knots to hair effortlessly tucked into collars. Shorter styles featured off-centre partings and a slightly undone finish.
Anthony Turner explains: “We wanted to celebrate individuality and let each girl’s personality influence the hair. The hair was instinctive and effortless, embracing natural texture while also creating something more precise. There’s a sense of ease to the looks where nothing feels too styled or overworked.”
Victoria Beckham said: “This season, we wanted the hair to feel personal and individual to each model – easy, instinctive, and full of character. Along with hairstylist Anthony Turner, we used Schwarzkopf products to bring this vision to life.”
Pressiat by Kevin Jacotot for L’Oréal Professionnel

For their SS27 show, Pressiat transformed the iconic Bus Palladium into the ‘Pressiat Hotel’ – a destination inspired by Parisian nightlife, music, fashion and art, each room boasted its own unique world and this was reflected in the bold, free-spirited hairstyles of the models. Looks were glossy and glamourous with bouncy curls and lots volume. Kevin Jacotot explains, “We truly adapt the looks to the theme of each room: one will be more cinematic, another more rock-inspired, while a third will channel an ‘after-party’ spirit.”
Ann Demeulemeester by Anthony Turner for Schwarzkopf

For the Ann Demeulemeester s/s 2027 show, the hair drew on a mix of archetypes, from goths and punks to emos and prairie-inspired styles, embracing a diverse range of textures, shapes and finishes, and using the models’ individuality as a guide. Braids and wigs added variety, creating a hair story that was distinctly character-led.
Anthony Turner explains: “We wanted the hair to reflect each model’s personality and uniqueness, using their natural hair texture and personality to guide us to the end result. We played with different characters and subcultures, celebrating individuality and self-expression.”
