Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has admitted to accidentally driving away from the petrol station without paying while running errands.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Mr Carroll confessed to accidentally doing a runner after filling up at the bowser on Monday evening.

“Late Monday night, I was running some errands and filled up the car with petrol,’ Mr Carroll said.
“Found out yesterday I forgot to pay. I fixed the bill straight away.”
He said we was “grateful for the team at the servo for their understanding” but fell short of saying which service station he visited.

According to PetrolSpy, the average cost to fill up the tank with unleaded in Melbourne is $2.36 per litre.
The Australian reported the Premier was contacted by the Department of Parliamenatary Services on Tuesday night after Victoria Police were told of the unpaid petrol.
He was driving his own car at the time, and not relying on the government chauffeur.
