The delivery of all 52 new buses purchased for Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is now complete, with the arrival of 27 more buses at the Chamkani depot on Friday morning.
According to TransPeshawar, 25 buses arrived in Peshawar last month, while the remaining 27 reached the city on Friday, completing the delivery of all 52 buses. The addition of the new vehicles has increased the BRT fleet to 296 buses.
TransPeshawar said the additional buses would help improve passenger services, strengthen existing operations, and facilitate the introduction of new routes.
The company also clarified misleading claims circulating on social media about videos showing the transportation of the buses. Contrary to claims that the buses were being taken out of Peshawar, the vehicles were actually being brought into the city.
TransPeshawar said the arrival of all 52 buses had clarified the situation surrounding the videos circulating on social media.
