The Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) enjoyed another memorable outing on October 7, with 34 members taking part in a scenic ride through the hills and valleys of the central Algarve.
Setting off from Boliqueime, the group travelled along winding country roads, climbing into the hills above Salir and enjoying panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.
With temperatures noticeably cooler than on previous rides and clear skies throughout the day, conditions were ideal for motorcycling.
The first stop was for coffee after negotiating the sweeping bends of the roads through Califórnia (Loulé), before the riders headed west into the hills towards Malhão.
A second refreshment break at Café Miramar, near Malhão, gave participants an opportunity to admire the views before continuing through Monte Ruivo and Santa Margarida.

Lunch was at Restaurante O Foral, a favourite among the group, where Carlos and his team once again provided a warm welcome and an excellent meal.
The route, planned by David Shirley, took riders along some of the Algarve’s quieter roads, offering a combination of enjoyable bends, open countryside and impressive scenery.
David Shirley, Roy West and Peter Kenyon led the ride, assisted by Frank Banha, Richard Cutting and Andrew Chilton.
Organisers described the outing as a great success, with all 34 participants enjoying the favourable weather, picturesque route and friendly atmosphere.
The Algarve Senior Bikers’ next organised ride takes place on October 27, with further details available at algarveseniorbikers.com
