Western Kenya counties of Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, and Busia are also on the list, alongside Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira in the Lake region. A total of 29 counties are covered in the rainfall prediction.

Strong winds alert for six counties
Beyond the rainfall outlook, the meteorological authority has flagged strong southerly to south-easterly winds for six counties.
Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Garissa, Lamu, and Tana River are all expected to experience wind speeds exceeding 25 knots, equivalent to 12.5 metres per second.
Residents in those areas, particularly those engaged in fishing, livestock herding, or open-field activities, are advised to take note of the wind advisory when planning outdoor activities during the forecast period.
The forecast comes as Kenya continues to navigate shifting seasonal weather patterns, with the short rains season typically setting in across many parts of the country during October and November.
