In a separate incident, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in Gangal while returning home from work. According to police sources, several suspects took her to a nearby wooded area, where they sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
The victim was taken to a hospital for a medico-legal examination. However, police allegedly delayed registering the case while waiting for the medical report. An FIR was eventually registered under Section 376 of the PPC but was sealed on the instructions of senior officers.
