This question was posed to Halifa Sallah and this is his answer: Sidia Jatta and myself are still protecting Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 and facing the media because of warrior journalists like those of What’s On Gambia. They are fighters against truth and propagators of lies to promote their political agenda. They are not interested in covering press conferences to present the whole picture of what was said, which is the hallmark of true journalism, unlike warrior journalists.
They would want to bury the whole forest by focusing on a tree. This is the way of diverting the attention of the people from the truth and focus the debate in the media on a very trivial issue like whether Halifa Sallah will make a comeback or not. All those in Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 should ignore What’s On Gambia and focus on what was said in plain language; that Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 aims to hand over the Gambia to the people and build the country with clean hands. They should leave Halifa Sallah to wage the battle with the warrior journalists. They have their agenda and he knows how to handle them to turn a new page in Gambian politics by focusing on the vision, mission and promises which were thoroughly explained at the press conference to all journalists, worthy of name, who would have published in it good faith in the public interest.
Warrior journalists are not interested in publishing the truth in good faith in the public interest. They distort the truth. From hence forth all those who support Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 should not be diverted into any form of debate but should instead focus on its vision, mission and promises to every Gambian and every concerned person interested in the development of The Gambia.
