Ravshan Karimzoda, Tajikistan’s deputy minister of education and science, has met nine-year-old Vaslida Safarzoda from Guliston in Sughd region, whose performances of Uzbek songs have attracted widespread attention on social media.
According to the Sughd Education Department, Karimzoda learned about the girl’s musical abilities, creative activities and interests. He also discussed with her family ways to support her talent and help her develop her musical skills.

Due to her health condition, Vaslida follows an individual study programme. She continues to pursue her passion for music and develop her creative abilities.
Meanwhile, in late September, Vaslida, who is visually impaired, performed alongside renowned Tajik singer Daler Nazarov, singing one of his best-known songs.

Her performances of Chaki Chaki Boroni Bahor caught the musician’s attention. Her dream of singing alongside her idol came true when Nazarov invited her to join him on stage at a major concert.
Asia-Plus previously reported on Vaslida’s story. Our journalists visited her home in Guliston to find out how she had mastered three languages and taught herself to create rhythmic accompaniment using everyday objects.
