Dubai is a city of arrivals. Most people here came from somewhere else, and almost every one of them has a reason behind the move: a gamble, a fresh start, a door that closed back home. Bizbizetalk is a YouTube channel built on that fact. Its idea is simple. Everyone has a story worth hearing, and someone should sit down and actually listen to it.
The woman behind the mic
The channel is run by Ebru Erturk, a British-Turkish civil engineer who switched careers and became a digital marketer in Dubai. Her own path could fill an episode. She left Turkey for London first, built a life there, then packed up again. Today she lives in Dubai full time.
That history shapes the show. Erturk knows what it's like to start over in a new city, more than once. She knows the paperwork and the lonely first months. She also knows the odd thrill of becoming someone new in a place where nobody knew the old you. She brings all of that to the table.
A podcast interview at its heart
Most Bizbizetalk episodes take the form of a podcast interview. Erturk sits across from a guest and lets them talk. Some are business owners who launched a company in the Emirates. Some are singers trying to make their mark on the city's music scene. Others work at creative agencies, or hold down a steady 9-to-5 and fit their bigger plans around it.
The range is the point. Dubai life usually gets shown through a narrow lens: supercars and rooftop brunches. Bizbizetalk looks past the postcard. It asks how people got here, what they gave up, and what keeps them going on the hard days.
Why listening matters
A quieter idea runs through the channel. Expats can be surrounded by people and still feel unheard. Colleagues come and go. Friends leave when their contracts end, and family is a time zone away. A long conversation, one where someone asks a question and then waits for the full answer is rarer than it should be.
Bizbizetalk gives its guests that space. The format is relaxed. Nobody is rushing toward a soundbite. Viewers hear the doubts along with the wins, and that's usually where the useful lessons sit.
For anyone thinking about moving to Dubai, the channel works as a field guide written by people who've already done it. For those who live here, it's a reminder that the stranger next to you on the Metro probably has a story as strange and hard-won as your own.
Worth a listen
Bizbizetalk doesn't try to sell Dubai, and it doesn't try to explain it either. It lets the people who live here do the talking. In a city that moves this fast, that's reason enough to subscribe.
