Actor and producer Aedy Ashraf celebrated his 33rd birthday late last month by gifting his mother, Liza Zain, and elder sister a new black iCar electric vehicle (EV), an upgrade from the second-hand car he bought them a decade ago.
"About 10 years ago, I could only afford a second-hand car."
"That old car is well past its prime. So I bought a larger, more comfortable EV for my mother and sister."
Aedy said the gesture was a tribute to the two women who shaped his life.
"Without them, I wouldn't be in this world today. My sister sacrificed her social life to look after our mother. That is something truly monumental."
Emphasising that no material gift could ever match their prayers and sacrifices, Aedy said: "My success is all thanks to their prayers and blessings. As long as my parents and sister are with me, I want to fulfil their wishes."
His Threads post about the gift went viral, drawing praise from fans.
To mark the occasion, Aedy travelled to Bachok, Kelantan, to celebrate with his father and hosted a meal for local orphans.
