A former Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation in Ekiti State, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his inauguration for a second term in office, describing the new mandate as an opportunity to build on the achievements recorded during the past four years.
In a congratulatory statement on Wednesday, Olumilua said the occasion called not only for celebration but also for appreciation of the significant progress made by the Oyebanji administration across critical sectors of the state.
He noted that the governor’s first term witnessed commendable interventions in agriculture, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, healthcare, education and workers’ welfare, which had reinforced public confidence in the state’s future.
“I particularly commend the administration for its efforts towards strengthening the agricultural sector, improving infrastructure, creating opportunities for our young people, enhancing access to healthcare and advancing educational development. These are fundamental pillars of sustainable development,” he said.
The former Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industry also lauded the administration’s attention to the welfare of civil servants, retirees and the elderly, describing it as essential to building a motivated workforce and a responsible government.

Olumilua, who served in the Oyebanji administration, said the achievements of the first term had provided a solid foundation for greater accomplishments in the next four years.
He urged the governor to consolidate the gains already recorded and raise performance standards across all sectors. He particularly called for increased support for farmers to boost productivity and food security, sustained investment in roads and public infrastructure to stimulate commerce, and expanded opportunities for young people in employment, entrepreneurship and innovation.
He expressed confidence that the governor would sustain his commitment to workers’ welfare through the timely payment of salaries, pensions and entitlements, as well as improved working conditions and retirement security.
“While appreciating the progress made so far, I believe that Governor Oyebanji’s second tenure offers an even greater opportunity to surpass the achievements of his first term. The experience gained, foundations laid and lessons learned during the past four years should serve as catalysts for more ambitious initiatives, stronger implementation and greater impact,” Olumilua stated.
He added that the renewed mandate demonstrated the people’s confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership and expressed optimism that the governor would respond with greater determination to deliver inclusive development and good governance.
“Having laid a commendable foundation during his first tenure, I look forward with great optimism to a second term that consolidates these achievements, exceeds expectations and leaves an even more enduring legacy of progress,” he said.
Olumilua wished the governor greater wisdom, strength, good health and success as he continued the task of building a more prosperous Ekiti State.
