Former Gloucester and Toulon forward is Scottish-qualifed
New Glasgow Warriors hooker Jack Singleton has spoken of his relief after being given the all clear to return to rugby after suffering a cardiac event in training.
Singleton, 30, has joined the club after a year out of the game.
The England international suffered the incident in September 2025. His last game was for Gloucester against Exeter in the Premiership Rugby Cup on September 12, 2025.

Glasgow Warriors announced on Tuesday morning that they had signed the player on a short-term deal to provide cover at hooker, particularly during the international windows. The club expect both Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen to be involved with Scotland in next month’s Nations Championship fixtures and the 2027 Six Nations.
I'm incredibly grateful to be here
“It's been really good so far,” Singleton told the club’s website. “All the lads have been really welcoming, I'm incredibly grateful to be here and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it with the boys.
“I couldn't be more pleased to be back in rugby. It’s been a long old year, and for Glasgow to give me this opportunity is something for which I'm incredibly grateful. I’m excited to be in the clear and get back out onto a pitch.
“I watched Glasgow a lot in the Champions Cup last year. I saw that run they went on, and watched them beat Toulouse at home where the atmosphere looked incredible. They play an expansive style of rugby and I know how strong their pack has been for the last couple of years, especially around that driving maul, so I’m looking forward to learning off the lads here and getting involved in that.”
Capped by England but Scottish qualified
Singleton has been capped three times by England but is also Scotland-qualified through grandparents.
Singleton scored 20 tries in 75 appearances for Gloucester, having joined the club in 2020 after previously representing Worcester Warriors and Saracens.
He also enjoyed a season-long loan spell at RC Toulon in the 2023/24 campaign, making 21 appearances, including facing the Warriors at Scotstoun in the Investec Champions Cup pool stages.
Played at Rugby World Cup
The hooker, who played for England at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, recently returned to full training after experiencing a cardiovascular event in training with Gloucester in September 2025 and linked up with the Warriors for the first time at Scotstoun this week.
Franco Smith, the Glasgow head coach, said: “With Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen having both made their Scotland debuts over the summer and with both players likely to be involved during the Nations Championship and Guinness Six Nations, Jack brings a wealth of top-flight experience into our environment that will benefit us during those periods.
“He is someone who has already begun to throw himself into becoming a Warrior, and is willing to work hard for his team-mates and his club. He will also provide a positive influence on the development of our three young hookers.
“We are pleased to welcome him into our environment and look forward to working closely with him over the coming months.”
