The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has bursted a supply source of labels, corks and bottle caps used to package fake alcoholic drinks in Aba market, Abia State.
The agency’s operation targeted materials allegedly used in the production and packaging of fake alcoholic beverages and sold to unsuspecting Nigerians.
The labels, corks and packs included those of popular and fast selling products, which have been produced to look like the originals as sold in the open market.
The discovery raises serious concerns about the circulation of counterfeit drinks and the risks to public health.
