Bryson DeChambeau isn’t giving up LIV Golf just yet.
The two-time U.S. Open winner and one of golf’s biggest names remains committed to the rebel golf league and has been working behind the scenes to help bring LIV 2.0 to life, ESPN reported Wednesday.
The report is the first indication of what DeChambeau’s future is with LIV Golf, as a number of the league’s players have deserted the once-Saudi-funded circuit.
LIV filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September and is hoping to launch LIV 2.0 in 2027 with potentially $300 million in investment from BC Partners, which would include an initial loan of $4 million to allow LIV to keep operating during the bankruptcy process.
All of this comes after the Saudi Public Investment Fund pulled its funding from LIV Golf earlier this year, exacerbating the turmoil around the league’s future beyond 2026.
A number of LIV’s biggest names have already said they would not return, including Jon Rahm, whose lawyer told the bankruptcy court last week that the Spaniard would not participate in LIV 2.0 after labeling the contract terms “unacceptable.”
Louis Oosthuizen, a former British Open winner and the captain of the all-South African Southern Guards GC team announced on Wednesday that he would not return to LIV and would play on the DP World Tour in 2027.
As part of the bankruptcy process, a judge allowed LIV to reject 19 golfers’ contracts, which included DeChambeau’s.
DeChambeau has been one of the biggest draws for LIV, especially for events held in the United States. He has been a proponent of the league amid the turmoil while the season was going on.
The American golf star has become widely popular through his YouTube channel and social media, which have appealed to a younger audience.
An attorney representing LIV Golf told a bankruptcy judge last week to expect a decision by the end of October on whether it will push forward with LIV 2.0 or whether operations will wind down.
