We are very pleased to welcome him to the Board.”
Mr Card said: “I am delighted to join the Board of Clarien Bank at an important time in the Bank’s development. Clarien has a strong position in Bermuda and clear ambitions for the future in Cayman and other strategical important markets. I look forward to working with my fellow Directors and the management team and contributing my experience as the Bank continues to grow, evolve and serve its clients and the wider communities in which it operates.”
A spokesperson added, “Mr Gibbons is a senior Bermudian executive and board director whose career spans financial services, insurance and infrastructure. He has held senior executive positions within the Gibbons family group of companies and has served in a number of prominent corporate, government and community roles.

While he is retiring from the Clarien Bank Board, I am pleased that his involvement with Clarien will continue through his role as a Director of Clarien Group Limited.”
James Gibbons said: “Clarien has been an important part of my family’s history, and I am so proud of all that the Bank has achieved over the years. While the time is right for me to step down from the Bank Board, I look forward to continuing my involvement through the Clarien Group Board. I wish Duncan every success in his new role and look forward to seeing Clarien continue to grow and evolve.”
A spokesperson added, “Mr Card’s appointment reflects the evolution of the Clarien Bank Board and brings additional experience in areas that are increasingly important to the governance and strategic development of financial institutions.”
