The Carolina Hurricanes added a social media jab to a frustrating Sunday for Philadelphia sports fans. After defeating the Flyers 4-1, the Hurricanes’ official X account took aim at Philadelphia’s hockey, football, and baseball teams with a post highlighting Carolina’s recent success in the city.
“We've won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month,” the Hurricanes posted.
Carolina has defeated the Flyers twice since the season began, giving the Hurricanes plenty of material as a Philadelphia team still searches for its first win. The Phillies have been eliminated from the playoffs, while the 76ers have yet to begin their regular season.
The Eagles contributed to the city’s frustration earlier Sunday, falling 19-17 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Philadelphia has lost three straight after opening the season with two wins, dropping to 2-3. The timing adds another layer to the jab. With the Carolina Panthers on bye, the Hurricanes fired a shot at Philadelphia ahead of the Eagles’ Week 6 home game against Carolina.

The Eagles host the Panthers on Oct. 18, with a chance to end their losing streak. Until then, another Carolina franchise has supplied Philadelphia fans with one more reason to want a win.
