ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has advised mobile users on the importance of using appropriate network settings on their mobile phones and effectively utilising advanced technologies, including Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Wi-Fi Calling, and VoWiFi, to improve their calling and mobile internet experience.
According to PTA, in case of unclear voice quality during calls or delays in connecting 4G/LTE calls, consumers should check the network settings on their mobile phones and enable the 4G/LTE option if it is not already activated. Consumers should also ensure that both their mobile phone and SIM support 4G services.
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is an important feature for improved calling, enabling voice calls over a 4G network. It can help improve voice quality and facilitate faster call connection. To benefit from this facility, the mobile phone, SIM, and relevant mobile operator must support VoLTE.
Similarly, Wi-Fi Calling and VoWiFi can be particularly useful in locations where mobile network signals are weak, such as inside homes or in basements. These facilities enable consumers to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection, provided that their mobile phone and mobile operator support VoWiFi. Consumers therefore need to enable the Wi-Fi Calling option in their mobile phone settings and connect their phone to a Wi-Fi network.
Consumers are advised to enable the Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Wi-Fi Calling, and VoWiFi options in their mobile phone settings. VoLTE requires the phone to support a 4G network, while VoWiFi provides the facility to make calls over Wi-Fi in areas with weak mobile network signals. The availability and use of these facilities are subject to compatibility between the mobile phone and the relevant mobile operator.
For further information and guidance regarding the availability, activation, and use of these facilities, consumers may contact their respective mobile phone operator.
