ADEN – The Saudi-backed Masam Project for clearing mines in Yemen announced that it has removed more than 4,000 explosive devices and remnants of war since the beginning of October, as part of its ongoing efforts to clear contaminated land and improve civilian safety across the country.
According to the project, its field teams continue conducting mine clearance operations in several Yemeni regions, targeting landmines, unexploded ordnance, and other hazardous remnants left behind by years of conflict.
The initiative aims to reduce threats to civilians and secure residential areas, farmland, and key transportation routes.
Masam stated that demining teams are working to eliminate dangers in areas previously affected by military confrontations, enabling local communities to resume normal activities and facilitating safer movement for residents.
