Across two seasons, sixteen episodes and counting, Amazon's billion-dollar high fantasy big swing The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power has slowly been moving its elf, dwarf, wizard, Harfoot, and human-shaped pieces into place to herald the single most consequential event in Middle-earth's history: Sauron's forging of The One Ring in the lands of Mordor, where the shadows lie. Now, in Prime Video's forthcoming The Rings Of Power: Season 3, Charlie Vickers' Dark Lord is finally set to do the deed and plunge the world into darkness, which would be terribly frightening if it didn't all look so damn cool. Just check out the newly dropped final trailer for the new season below;
Blimey — that's a whole lot of trailer! Teasing proto-Ringwraiths, the arrival of Jamie Campbell Bower's Celeborn, Daniel Weyman's first fully fledged season as Gandalf The Wise, and all manner of battles and beasts — Fell, Balrog, Mumakil, and more — this latest look at The Rings Of Power's third outing really leans into the all-consuming sense of darkness and foreboding surrounding J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay's show as it starts to enter the back-half of its five-season arc. And yet amid all the grandeur, preciouses, and large-scale conflict, it looks like the emotional core of the show holds true, with Morfydd Clark's Galadriel plagued by visions of Sauron, the Dwarf kingdom dealing with its recent loss and present power vacuum, and all the peoples of Middle-earth barrelling towards the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, tasked with setting aside their differences in the face of the greatest evil their world has ever seen.
And here's the official synopsis for Rings Of Power's return: "Season 3 finds Sauron transformed into his legendary armored form as he enslaves his ring-servants, the Nazgnagôl, and sows destruction across Middle-earth through deception and might. Meanwhile, Gandalf emerges as the iconic wizard of lore and Galadriel continues her evolution into the wise and powerful elven Lady of Lothlórien. And, for the first time on screen, audiences will witness the foundational moment that shaped Middle-earth and became a cornerstone of popular culture: the forging of the One Ring – capping Sauron’s quest for ultimate power as he battles the resistance of Elves, Dwarves, and Men."
So there we have it. The stage is set. The One Ring is being forged, the Last Alliance of Elves and Men approaches, and it looks like Celeborn, Galadriel, and Sauron are about to give us the unlikeliest telly love triangle of 2026. November 11 can't come soon enough!
