Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance (000810.KS) said on the 19th that it has launched THE FIT, a new health insurance product that tailors coverage and services to a customer's health condition and life stage.
The product expands on My Fit Health Insurance, which the insurer introduced in 2024. Coverage has been broadened from cancer and circulatory diseases to include liver, lung and kidney conditions. The policy is designed to cover the full course of treatment, from initial testing and drug therapy through hospitalization, surgery and recovery.
It also allows customers to prepare for risks tied to dementia and long-term care, as well as driving and household living, reflecting changes in age and living environment in addition to health status.
The insurer has added premium discounts. Customers can choose an enrollment type based on their health condition, and when family members enroll together, all of them receive a 5% discount on premiums.
After enrolling, policyholders can opt into health management services such as gym access and blood sugar and weight management. For serious illnesses including cancer, brain disease and heart disease, the insurer also provides services supporting treatment and a return to daily life, including hospital escort, home care, lodging during treatment and housekeeping assistance.
