FAISALABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reportedly busted an alleged online gambling network involving financial transactions worth Rs119.93 billion allegedly involving officials of Easypaisa.
According to reports available on social media, the FIR was registered on September 24, 2026, alleging that the network operated during 2024 and 2025 through fraudulent corporate accounts established under the names of single-member companies (SMCs).
The case records identify Muhammad Zeeshan as a prime suspect. Investigators alleged that his associate, Waqar Rashid Khan, contacted Easypaisa officials directly to arrange the payment infrastructure used by the network.
The suspects allegedly presented the companies as legitimate e-commerce and digital marketing businesses to obtain branchless banking corporate accounts.
Another suspect, Muhammad Hamza Sarwar, is accused of creating fake websites to test payment integration with Easypaisa and allegedly circumvent compliance checks before linking the accounts to overseas gambling platforms.
Billions Moved Through Corporate Accounts
The FIR reportedly stated that five branchless collection accounts processed approximately 10.49 million transactions involving Rs8.586 billion.
Across 11 companies, investigators recorded a total credit turnover of Rs119.93 billion and debit turnover of Rs118.80 billion.
The gambling platforms named in the case include U7777 Game, TD777 Game, 89F Game and EPIWIN.
Alleged Money Trail
According to the investigation, funds collected through Easypaisa accounts were transferred to swipe accounts associated with Mobilink Microfinance Bank (MMBL), before being allegedly routed through accounts at Faysal Bank and Dubai Islamic Bank.
Investigators further alleged that the money was moved into accounts held in the names of scrap dealers and mobile phone shops in areas including Peshawar and Shakas. The funds were allegedly settled through illegal hawala and hundi channels and USDT cryptocurrency.
Two Arrested, Raids Underway
The FIA’s Faisalabad team has arrested two suspects, while raids are being conducted to apprehend six other individuals allegedly linked to the network.
The case has been registered under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act and Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which relate to cheating and offences involving forged documents.
Any alleged involvement of Easypaisa officials has not been established as a proven fact as it is currently an allegation.
