PETALING JAYA: An unemployed 19-year-old man has been charged at the Kuantan magistrates’ court with the murder of a female student last week.
F Alan Stevekumar was charged before magistrate Tuan Rusuaini Tuan Lah. No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
He is accused of killing polytechnic student M Elisa Jonova, also 19, at Jalan Air Putih 2 in Kuantan between 4.32am and 4.50am on Oct 6.
The charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Pahang prosecutions director Sabri Othman appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was unrepresented.
Sabri requested a new mention date to allow the prosecution to review the post-mortem and toxicology reports.
The magistrate fixed Nov 12 for mention.
