A Dolphin Force officer deployed for security of the tri-nation ODI cricket series in Rawalpindi was injured after his own rifle accidentally went off during duty.
The officer was on the security route for the series between Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England. He was immediately shifted to a hospital after the incident.
Rifle Fell During Patrol Duty
According to officials, the officer was deployed on patrolling duty along the route from Double Road to Faizabad. During the patrol, his rifle fell to the ground.
Following standard operating procedures (SOPs), he picked up the rifle and removed its magazine.
