The Ghana Police Service has arrested two Nigerian nationals in connection with the suspected sexual assault and murder of an 11-year-old girl at Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region of Ghana.
The victim has been identified as Blessing Innocent, while the suspects were identified as 40-year-old Kingsley Ozor, an autobody sprayer, and his 19-year-old apprentice, Jeffery Otaigbe.
According to police accounts, the incident occurred on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The case was reported after the victim’s mother filed a missing person report at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Gomoa Buduburam District Police on Monday, October 19.
The mother reportedly told investigators that her daughter had been missing since Saturday.
The police said preliminary investigations indicated that the girl had visited her neighbours — the two suspects — at about 8:30 am on the day she disappeared.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, October 20, following investigations into the missing person report.
Police said further investigations led to the discovery of the girl’s body, allegedly concealed beneath shrubs near an uncompleted building close to an estate community.
The 19-year-old suspect reportedly led investigators to the location.
The body has been retrieved and deposited at the morgue of the St. Gregory Catholic Hospital in Gomoa Buduburam, with arrangements underway for an autopsy at the Police Hospital to determine the cause of death.
The Ghana Police Service said investigation is ongoing.
