A 37-year-old Scottish tourist has been arrested by the Guardia Civil for punching a man who groped his girlfriend’s buttocks in the toilets of a nightclub in Magalluf.
The victim, a 45-year-old man, required several stitches in his right eyebrow and lost a tooth as a result of the punches he received. Officers also arrested him on charges of sexual assault.
The incident occurred around 8:00a.m. yesterday inside a bar located on Avenida s’Olivera. A 30-year-old Scottish woman was in the bar’s toilet when a man hugged her without her consent and grabbed her buttocks forcefully.
The woman’s partner punched the man several times in the face; the man had to be taken to the Santa Ponsa health centre to be treated for his injuries.
The injured man was then transferred to Son Espases Hospital, as he required several stitches on his lower right eyelid.
Police officers took charge of the investigation into the incident and interviewed the man, who denied the allegations of sexual assault.
