Hanjin (002320) President Cho Hyun-min attended the 2026 Korea Police & Public Safety Expo (KPEX) as the inaugural chair of the Korea Public Safety Industry Promotion Association, stressing the importance of building a security industry ecosystem through public-private cooperation.
Hanjin said on the 23rd that Cho presided over the association's general meeting held on the 21st at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. At the meeting, Cho said the association "must serve as a solid bridge connecting public security with private innovative technology, and as the focal point for the future leap forward of the security industry."
After the general meeting, Cho attended the opening ceremony of the expo and toured major booths at the venue, examining first-hand the current state of the domestic security industry and its future direction.
The Korea Public Safety Industry Promotion Association plans to pursue projects aimed at systematically fostering the domestic security industry and building its ecosystem. In particular, it will strengthen its role as an industry-academia-research cooperation platform linking police, companies, universities and research institutions, in step with the adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and intelligent closed-circuit television at security sites.
The association will also work to identify and nurture promising domestic security companies. It plans to support technology verification and commercialization and help domestic firms enter overseas markets, raising the competitiveness of the country's security industry.
