Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore,Bilal Siddique Kamyana on Saturday ordered a comprehensive crackdown on organised pickpocketing gangs and directed police officers to continue action against those involved in theft, burglary and crimes against women. He issued the directives during a meeting on crime prevention which reviewed ongoing measures against criminal elements involved in various street and property crimes. The CCPO directed the launch of a special campaign against pickpockets while ensuring the continuation of operations against suspects involved in theft and burglary. He instructed officers to make effective use of Safe City camera footage to identify and arrest criminal suspects. He also ordered the installation of security barriers and CCTV cameras at burglary hotspots to strengthen surveillance,prevent crime and monitor suspicious activities. Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed police to take legal action against individuals filing false complaints and emphasized the need for the prompt arrest of proclaimed offenders and other wanted suspects. He also ordered strict action against those involved in crimes against women,stressing that the protection of women and enforcement of the law must be ensured.
