The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (BCSF), in partnership with Tufts Health Plan and Boston Medical Center (BMC), hosted the Curbside Care Celebration today at the Auerbach Center in Brighton according to a release circulated by the team. Celtics guard Derrick White also attended the event, per the release
The event was held for BMC patient families involved in the Curbside Care program, which offers mobile health services to birthing individuals and their newborns for the first six weeks after birth. According to the release, since 2023, the mobile unit has conducted over 1,500 visits, providing essential care directly to postpartum patients and their newborns while alleviating childcare and transportation challenges. Services include newborn care, lactation support, postpartum depression screenings, and blood pressure monitoring, all aimed at removing barriers to healthcare access.
"For some families it’s not easy to get the assistance they need, so for Curbside Care to come to their house and make it easy for them, that’s pretty cool," said White.
"Tufts Health Plan, a Point32Health company, is a proud sponsor of Curbside Care and honored to participate in the Curbside Care Celebration," said Point32Health Senior Vice President, Government Markets Eddie Walker.
"The Curbside Care program is making a meaningful and impactful difference in Boston neighborhoods by helping reduce barriers to high-quality maternal and infant health care."
