The ALCS resumes Saturday night after Game 4 between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians was postponed due to rain on Friday. Progressive Field has presumably dried off, and first pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET with the home team holding a 2-1 series lead. The AL pennant and a World Series date with the Milwaukee Brewers are on the line.
The Rays will start right-hander Nick Martinez (15-6, 3.10 ERA) as they look to even the series. Martinez last pitched against the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS, striking out three while allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs and 1 walk over 3 2/3 innings.
Right-hander Shawn Armstrong (0-0, 4.58 ERA) will open for the Guardians against his former team, making his first career postseason start after appearing in 131 games for Tampa Bay over four seasons. Armstrong struck out one and allowed one hit over 1 2/3 innings of relief against the Rays in Game 2, and Cleveland is expected to lean on its bullpen behind him.
