Tickets for the blockbuster boxing bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in Cardiff are being sold for more than £20,000 each.
Hospitality firm Seat Unique is offering “front row, inner ringside with offsite hospitality” for the December fight for £19,995, plus a £999 booking fee.
It reflects demand for a fight that has been in the making for over a decade, with the so-called Battle of Britain show being staged in the Welsh capital despite promoter preferences for New York’s Madison Square Garden to host the spectacle.
For £20,000, guests will get a “commemorative” lanyard and ticket, access to the arena “from doors open to close”, complimentary beer and wine and a three-course set menu at a site away from the 74,000-capacity Principality Stadium.
But it does guarantee a seat in the front row for AJ-Fury, with row two seats with a similar package costing £15,000.
AJ-Fury tickets soar
Premium packages begin at £400, but the seating for those is situated in the Principality Stadium’s upper tier and with access to an off-site bar within walking distance.
The main event of the show – scheduled to take place on Friday 11 December – is likely to get under way in the early hours of Saturday morning, with the choice to keep the fight in the UK meaning that both Middle Eastern and North American audiences must be compensated with a suitable ring walk time.
General admission tickets for the fight began at £75 but are currently on resale with Ticketmaster from £300, and rising to beyond £4,700.
The fight – which is being financed by Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh with the likes of Sela, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren all involved – will reportedly have a total purse of between £150m and £200m, with a 50-50 split for the two British fighters.
The flight will be streamed live on Netflix as part of regular subscription packages.
