A man has been jailed for attempting to cover up the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old in Sheffield two decades ago after admitting perverting the course of justice.
Faiser Hussain, 44, was sentenced to four years in prison at Hull Crown Court on Thursday (Oct 22) in connection with the killing of Ibrahim Ilyas in 2006.
Ibrahim was fatally shot while sitting in a car on Abbeyfield Road in the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield.
Hussain was arrested at Manchester Airport earlier this year after returning to the UK and was subsequently charged with murder.
He had been standing trial for Ibrahim's murder for the past two weeks when, on Tuesday (Oct 20), he pleaded guilty to committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
The charge related to the disposal of the vehicle used in the drive-by shooting.

The vehicle was discovered abandoned and burnt out on Psalters Lane in Rotherham following the killing.
After Hussain's guilty plea was accepted, the judge directed the jury to find him not guilty of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Hussain, of no fixed abode, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Thursday (Oct 22), where he was sentenced to four years in prison.
Another man, Mohammed Ali, of Fir Vale, was convicted of Ibrahim's murder in 2006 and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years.
Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Woodward, the senior investigating officer in the case, said: "Ibrahim had his life cut short in the most devastating of circumstances, leaving his loved ones living every day with a grief they did not deserve. Ibrahim's family have shown immense courage having to re-live the painful and traumatic events surrounding his death.
"Hussain played an integral part in the planned attempt to conceal potentially vital evidence of a shocking and ruthless crime and after 20 years he probably thought he had got away with it. I hope this serves as a reminder to anyone who believes they can evade justice that eventually your criminal behaviour will catch up with you."
