Eleven months after its HBO Max premiere, Heated Rivalry’s cultural domination only grows bigger — meaning that unlike a lot of other streaming shows, it’s receiving a physical media release. The first season of the hit hockey romance is now available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD, and if you can hold out a little longer, a special 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray collector’s edition will be released in November.
In case you need a reminder as to what Heated Rivalry is about, here’s the official description:
Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands. What begins as a secret fling between two teenagers evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery. Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off of it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there’s room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love.
All versions of the Season 1 release will include deleted scenes and a blooper reel, with the 4K UHD version also including a behind-the-scenes featurette spotlighting the show’s cast, interviews with producer Brendan Brady and author Rachel Reid, and show creator Jacob Tierney introducing the episodes “Rookies” and “The Cottage.” Plus, the collectors edition includes special packaging, a mini-poster, and a “Hockey Puck” stress reliever.”
