Fundamentum Frontier Advisors (F2A) has secured Rs 3,000 crore in subscriptions for its growth-stage AI and deeptech investment strategy.
The capital has been raised from Indian and overseas investors through two regulated investment vehicles. Nandan Nilekani has joined the fund as an anchor investor and mentor.
Led by general partners Ashish Kumar, Debraj Banerjee and Vivek Singla, F2A plans to deploy the capital across 12 to 15 companies over the next two to three years. The fund plans to invest Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore in each company, with a focus on businesses that have a technological edge and the potential to scale.
F2A will invest across AI-led digital consumer businesses, enterprise software, AI applications, deeptech infrastructure and engineered systems. It will target growth-stage companies that have validated their technology and are expanding their customer base in India and overseas markets.
The fund has also secured investor approvals to increase its overall hard cap amid demand beyond its current capacity. However, the revised target corpus has not been disclosed.
F2A aims to support portfolio companies as they expand operations, build intellectual property and pursue further growth opportunities. The firm also plans to help them access customers, strategic partners and talent.
The fund has secured commitments amid growing investor interest in Indian companies developing AI and frontier technologies. F2A believes India-domiciled businesses can build technology products and intellectual property for domestic and international markets as they move from technology validation to commercial expansion.
The three general partners bring experience working with technology companies at different stages of growth. F2A plans to support founders through the expansion phase by providing capital and access to customers, strategic partnerships and talent. The firm expects its portfolio companies to take a few years to reach public-market readiness, positioning the fund as a growth-stage investor.
