KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport Department (RTD) has confirmed that a TikTok account using the name Ahmad Mushidi, which offers driving licences without requiring applicants to sit for tests, is fake.
The RTD said it had received complaints about advertisements on the social media platform offering driving licences without the need to attend classes or undergo driving tests.
Following the complaints, the department lodged a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
"The public is advised not to be easily deceived by advertisements or unauthorised accounts offering such services to avoid confusion and financial losses.
"Any enquiries or announcements regarding RTD services should be made through the department's official platforms only," it said in a statement on its official Facebook page.
A check of the TikTok account found that it was offering Class B2 motorcycle licences for RM350 and full Class B (B Full) motorcycle licences for RM380, without requiring applicants to sit for RTD tests.
The comments section of the videos also showed users expressing interest in obtaining the services.
