Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has commended President Bola Tinubu for investments in road infrastructure, airport redevelopment and mass transportation.
Daniel said sustained presidential support was critical to transforming Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector, improving connectivity and stimulating economic growth.
He spoke on Wednesday in Abuja as Special Guest of Honour and Chief Launcher at the 2026 National Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Nigeria.

The former governor cited the Coastal Road, East-West Road, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Badagry-Sokoto Highway, airport redevelopment projects and modern bus terminals as initiatives capable of improving mobility and facilitating trade.
He urged Nigerians to recognise the role of leadership in infrastructure development, noting that projects of such magnitude required political commitment and sustained support from the highest levels of government.
Daniel also commended Nigeria’s service chiefs for their contributions to national security, particularly the protection of critical transportation and logistics corridors.
A major highlight of the conference was the launch of CILT Nigeria’s 2025 conference proceedings, titled Enhancing Logistics and Transport for Sustainable Blue Economy.
The publication examines the role of efficient transport systems and logistics infrastructure in unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s maritime resources and promoting sustainable development.
The conference brought together stakeholders in the transport and logistics industry to examine ways of strengthening the sector and advancing the sustainable use of the country’s maritime resources.
