Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, was away from tennis for 15 months after giving birth to her daughter and returned in 2023.
In connection with this week’s Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, the now 19th-ranked 29-year-old said her priorities had changed after the birth of her daughter.
"It’s tough. Sometimes I look towards my future and often wonder how long I will continue to play," Osaka said, adding:
Because if my daughter were to say she doesn’t want me to travel that much, I’m not the kind of person who would ignore it.
