Landon Emenalo is ready to go at Celtic after completing his injury rehabilitation with Chelsea.
The 18-year-old left-back was one of two Stamford Bridge youngsters to join Martin O’Neill’s side on loan on transfer deadline day.
Shim Mhueka has made six substitute appearances for the Hoops and Emenalo is hoping to soon make his debut, albeit he is not part of the squad for the Europa League game against Benfica on Thursday night.
Emenalo told Celtic’s official website: “It’s really an honour to be here, especially after all this time.
“It felt good to train today and meet the guys. It’s a good group. So I can’t wait to get started.
“Obviously, I know Shim from Chelsea, so it’s nice to know someone here, but they’ve all welcomed me in, so it’s been pretty easy to join.
“Since he’s joined, I’ve been watching, been rooting for him, obviously. I think he’s done well, and I’ve known him since under-15s.
“Just looking out and seeing the stadium, it’s crazy. It’s about 60,000. I can’t wait to get out there and hear them.”
Speaking about Emenalo when he joined the club, O’Neill said: “Landon is a very good player we have followed for some time, and he will give us some real quality.
“He has many attributes which I think can benefit us. He is very quick and athletic but also very composed on the ball and while he can defend, he certainly gets up the pitch into attacking positions too.
“I know he has a real desire to do well for us, and I am sure he will as he adds strong competition and support on our left side.”
