Jena Bishop avenged her previous loss to Liz Carmouche, pulled off a major upset and was crowned the new PFL women’s flyweight champion on Friday.
Carmouche and Bishop first fought in August 2025 at PFL Charlotte. Carmouche finished Bishop via brutal first-round knockout to win the 2025 PFL Women’s Flyweight Tournament. On Friday, at Wintrust Arena, Bishop evened the score defeating the former Bellator champion and UFC title challenger by unanimous decision.
Carmouche nearly got a stoppage in the first frame. She connected with a series of punches followed by hammer fists on the ground as Bishop desperately tried to cover up. The referee appeared to be on the verge of stepping in.

As the fight played out, Bishop was able to use her grappling and jiu-jitsu skills to slowly take over the fight. In the third, she nearly submitted Carmouche with a rear-naked choke after dragging her to the canvas and taking her back. Carmouche survived the final minute of the round in a bad position.
The fight went the distance with all three judges scored the bout 48-47 for Bishop.
