The French star brothers Alexis and Félix Lebrun won 3–2 in sets.
The blue-and-yellow duo took the first set convincingly, but the Lebrun brothers shifted up a gear and turned the match around to lead 2–1. The Swedes tied it at 2–2, and the deciding set was a thriller.
“A huge disappointment, of course. It’s tough when we play such good doubles and it’s not enough in the end,” says Kristian Karlsson.
The Swedes took a 3–0 lead in the fifth set, but after a couple of blue-and-yellow mistakes, the score quickly became 3–3. The Lebrun brothers eventually won 11–8.
